Binders, wantlists, and lists

At a high level, a collection is just a grouping of cards. Collections come in 3 different types; Binders, Wantlists, and Lists. Each of these types has different behavior and will change how information is shown to you on the site.

Binder

A binder is a collection to track what you own. The items you include in here allow for tracking quantities, conditions, how many you have for trade, the price you acquired the card at, and a notes field so you can record anything specific about the card.

Cards tracked in binders are used to power "Collection Context" features across the website. This includes features such as showing how many you own when searching or viewing cards, indicating how many cards you already have for a deck, and more.

Wantlist

A wantlist is a collection that tracks cards you are wanting to pick up. You can indicate the quantity and condition of these cards. This is used to show you cards you want as you search and view cards.

Wantlists also allow you to easily buy all the cards on it from TCGPlayer. A Buy button on the collection generates a link to TCGPlayer that batch adds every item to your cart.

List

Lists are generic collections. They simply allow you to make a list of cards for any purpose.

Tradelists

Tradelists are a special type of collection. If any items are marked for trade in your binders, a special Trades collection will appear in your collection lists. The tradelist will contain all items you've marked for trade across all your collections. This is a public list, so you can easily share it with others so they can see what you have available.
