Account and security

How to manage your email address, passkeys, and account.

Everything about how you get into your account lives in Settings.

Your email address

Your address shows in the Security row, along with whether it has been verified. Manage is where you resend a confirmation, request a change, or cancel a change you sent by mistake.

Changing your address is a two step process. The change only takes effect once you confirm it from the message sent to the new address, so your current one keeps working until then and a typo cannot lock you out.

Passkeys

Passkeys let you sign in using the device in front of you, whether that is Face ID, a fingerprint, your laptop password, or a hardware key.

Settings → Passkeys lists what you have registered, and lets you add, rename, and delete them. It is worth registering one per device you use regularly, as any of them will get you in and losing a single device will not lock you out.

Note: Pitchstack will refuse to delete your last usable way of signing in, so you cannot accidentally strand yourself.

If you signed up with a password it keeps working, and adding a passkey simply turns that password into a backup. A Discord linked account signs in through Discord. See Creating an account.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from the settings page on the website. This removes your account and its data, and clears the copy held on that device. It cannot be undone.

Note: the app cannot delete an account — sign in on the website to do it.
